IT consulting for the appropriate process model
The right approach is the key to success. From the very beginning, we distinguish between tasks and projects that are easy to plan and complex tasks and projects.
For us, a project that is easy to plan means that the factors influencing the project are controllable, the requirements are clearly defined and there is already experience from comparable contexts. Therefore, we as experts can make an estimation in terms of time and budget based on our experience and create an appropriate planning. In this case a phase model, such as the waterfall model, is the right choice for the project approach.
Complex projects are characterized by the fact that the influencing factors and requirements can change during the course of the project or are not easily controllable. This leads to the fact that a planning at the beginning of the project does not correspond to reality after a short period of time and must be adapted. In this environment, agile procedures such as e.g. SCRUM or Kanban, play out their strengths. Changes in requirements or priorities during the course of the project are taken into account from the outset.
Agile project management or the classic waterfall model?
For 15 years we have been working with waterfall models as well as agile process models and methods. Due to general conditions at our customers or other project participants, we have already experienced the most diverse hybrid forms.
